Ava Handley City Ballet Summer Intensive Scholarship Information and Application
Welcome to the Ava Handley City Ballet Summer Intensive Scholarship Information and Application Page
We, at En Pointe for Ava, are so pleased to open the Ava Handley City Ballet Summer Intensive Scholarship and to award this scholarship to a young, aspiring and deserving dancer. Ava was very passionate about and dedicated to ballet, and she called City Ballet of San Diego her second home. Ava first danced in City Ballet's Nutcracker at the age of 6 and began to study at City Ballet at the age of 8. At the age of 10, Ava attended her first summer intensive at City Ballet. After completing her first intensive, her growth and improvement in technique, grace and confidence was undeniable which further rooted her at City Ballet. Aside from her own accomplishments in ballet, Ava was very supportive of other dancers - always wanting others to be successful. We are confident that Ava would want, even after her passing, to continue to support those with the same desire and passion as she. In addition to our mission at En Pointe for Ava to help those children with life-threatening brain tumors, we are thrilled to increase access to the art of ballet by supporting dancers at City Ballet during these early formative years in dance. Below you will find the application requirements and eligibility, the application instructions and the application form. From this tragic loss, we wish to carry Ava's legacy with City Ballet by keeping her light shining on all of those who love ballet. Wishing you the best of luck.
